Boynton Beach City Library

*Experience of Beth McKeown

The community in Boynton Beach was in need of not only a new library, but also a gathering place for the community. The design used elements of island architecture that blended together with the existing facility to create a new home in Boynton Beach.

In order to meet the goals of the client, stakeholders and the adult and child users of the Library, the interior design included a comfortable inviting color scheme bringing the exterior architecture into the interior design.  There are a number of public gathering spaces but the unique aspect of this building is separating the younger patrons into their own area in the renovated existing portion of the building from the adult crowd in the newly constructed expansion to the library.
