Hernando County School Board – Weeki Wachee High School

 *Experience of Beth McKeown

The new, LEED® Silver Certified, Weeki Wachee High School was designed as a 21st century school that is reflective of the local community in its architectural style. The interior design of the school took into consideration the need for flexibility and adaptability in order to serve the District well into the future. In the academic classroom spaces, operable partitions allow for a large space to be broken down in smaller spaces for group discussions, testing or team teaching. The core spaces were designed for easy-access by the community for after-hour use including the 500-seat Auditeria space which can be used for performances and events, but also serves as the school’s dining and cafeteria space.
